Jim Hansen . . .

Local Sandgate vocalist Jim Hansen again has earnt billing at this year’s ‘Rock Under The Clock’.

It was during the early 60’s that, as a student at Shorncliffe’s St Patrick’s College, Jim’s talent and versatility as an entertainer became apparent. He quickly moved on from solo and choral performances to become lead singer of a number of 60’s rock bands including the then famed Brisbane group ‘The National Reps’.

A significant career change presented when Jim’s repertoire moved towards swing and ballads. He was appointed resident vocalist at Brisbane’s Cloudland Ballroom, and headed up the iconic Alan Brown Big Band for many years.

Since those halcyon days Jim has performed on the floorshow circuit in Queensland and New South Wales, on many TV variety shows, in live theatre musicals, and even a theatre restaurant.

Today Jim is more at home performing a wide range of songs from contemporary Ballads to the legendary Rock & Roll hits of the 50’s, 60's and 70's. He is the consummate professional and brings to the stage at ‘Rock Under The Clock’ a tone, style and manner reminiscent of the fabulous 60’s.
